Caring for Our Communities: Pilot Chemical Produces and Donates 550 gallons of FDA-compliant Hand Sanitizer

April 23, 2020

As part of Pilot Chemical Company’s effort to help frontline workers providing essential services in the fight against COVID-19, the company is donating 550 gallons of FDA-compliant hand sanitizer to organizations located in the communities where Pilot operates. Produced at the company’s plant in Middletown, Ohio, with a donation of distilled water from Culligan of Fairfield, Ohio, the hand sanitizer is being distributed to each of the Pilot sites to donate.

Pilot has also donated 2,500 nitrile gloves to first responders in Ohio, in response to a request for desperately needed personal protective equipment.

“As a chemical manufacturer, Pilot is well-positioned to provide support to the communities in which we operate through the production of key building blocks used to combat the spread of the virus,” said Pamela Butcher, Pilot Chemical’s chief executive officer. “The health and safety of our employees, their families and our communities, and being able to manufacture critical ingredients for our customers are what is most important to us. This effort was made possible by the quick work of our dedicated Pilot employees and supply chain partners. We wake up each day with purpose and are grateful to everyone on the frontlines for the important work they are doing.”

Pilot is pleased to have 35 products included on the U.S. EPA List N: Disinfectants for Use Against SARS-CoV-2, through the company’s Mason Chemical Company line of products.
